Cokin EVO15-30M P Series EVO 95mm Circular Polarising + EVO Holder Kit (UK) BNIB
This Cokin Filter Holder and Filter Kit includes a Cokin Evo Aluminum P Series Filter Holder that is designed to accommodate multiple Cokin P Series, or 84mm wide, rectangular filters in order to help create the shot you envision. A Cokin Evo Circular Polariser Filter is also included. It is designed for use with an Evo Aluminum P Series Filter Holder's front plate, or it can be placed directly on a lens that features 95mm front filter threads. When applied, it helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. Use of the filter holder can be easily accomplished by first screwing a separately available Cokin P Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring onto a camera lens. Compatible adapter rings are available for lenses with 48mm, 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, or 72mm front filter threads. Cokin P Series filter holder adapter rings are also available for Hasselblad Bay 50, Bay 60, and Bay 70 lenses, or Rolleiflex Bay VI lenses. The Cokin Universal P Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring may be used as well, and is designed for lenses that are 40mm to 82mm in diameter. To reduce the likelihood of vignetting with wide-angle lenses that have 67mm or larger front filter threads, a separately available Cokin Evo Aluminum Z-Pro Series Filter Holder, along with a Cokin Z-Pro Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring, and Cokin Z-Pro Series, or 100mm-wide, rectangular filters can be used instead. Cokin Evo Aluminum P Series Filter Holder The Evo Aluminum P Series Filter Holder is designed to accommodate multiple Cokin P Series, or 84mm-wide, rectangular filters in order to help create the shot you envision. It can hold up to three rectangular filters that are each up to 2mm-thick; or two rectangular filters that are each up to 2mm-thick, plus one 95mm screw-on filter. Alternatively, it can hold up to one 4mm-thick rectangular filter along with another rectangular filter that is 2mm-thick. Cokin Evo 95mm Circular Polariser Filter This Cokin Evo Circular Polariser Filter is designed for use with an Evo Aluminum P Series Filter Holder's front plate, or it can be placed directly on a lens that features 95mm front filter threads. When applied, it helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. The light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarising filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces, and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage. What’s Included? Use of the filter holder can be easily accomplished by first screwing a separately available, Cokin P Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring onto a camera lens.
The filter holder's back plate integrates the components that allow a Cokin P Series, or an 84mm-wide, rectangular filter to be secured to a lens with a compatible adapter ring. Three pairs of filter slots are included, which can be used to create a configuration that accommodates three rectangular filters that are each 2mm thick. These slots are attached to the front of the back plate while a pair of adapter ring slots for the back plate's rear snaps onto a Cokin P Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring. After being fitted onto an adapter ring, the back plate can be rotated 360°, permitting the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning. Four brass screws held in place by four brass nuts attach the adapter ring slots and any filter slots in use to the back plate. Those screws can be loosened or tightened to vary the level of grip upon the inserted filters, which also can complement the use of graduated filters whose effect can be adjusted to better suit changing lighting conditions or creative demands by sliding them up or down within a filter slot.
Also included is a second plate that can be installed in front of the back plate, or in front of up to two of the back plate's filter slots. While in use, this front plate is attached to the same screws and nuts that hold the filter holder's main components together and provides the ability to place a screw-on 95mm filter at the very top of the filter holder assembly. This ensures that a filter such as a screw-on circular polarizer, which includes a filter ring that must be rotated in order to adjust the intensity of its effect, remains accessible.
To enable the use of an 84mm-wide, 4mm-thick filter, a pair of spacers can be placed between the back plate and a pair of filter slots. Alternatively, the spacers can be placed between two pairs of filter slots so that an 84mm-wide, 4mm-thick filter can be installed ahead of a Cokin P Series, 84mm-wide, 2mm-thick filter. Together, these spacers help to ensure that a 4mm-thick filter is not obstructed along its side which faces the lens, whether by the back plate, or by a 2mm-thick filter that is already installed.
To help prevent stray light, which could have unwanted effects on exposure, from coming in between the filter holder and a connected lens, two gaskets are positioned along the front of the back plate. These gaskets are designed to form a seal between the back plate and the first rectangular filter placed in front of it.
A circular polariser differs from a linear polariser in that it contains a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polariser, auto focus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. When the light becomes circularly polarized, it permits the use of these functions.
Cokin Evo circular polariser filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity as well as color fidelity, and promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and UV light. This 95mm Evo circular polariser filter features a durable, lightweight, 7.50mm-thick aluminum-alloy filter ring assembly with a front ring that can be rotated to adjust the intensity of the polarisation effect. These rings minimise the potential for vignetting, and the front ring also includes corresponding 95mm front filter threads for use with other screw-on filters.
To help eliminate internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface of the 95mm Evo Circular Polarizer Filter features 16 layers of Cokin's EVERCLEAR 5 anti-reflection coating. These coatings are resistant to oil, dust, dirt, and scratches, offering greater protection to the filter and helping it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. The coatings are also hydrophobic, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.
